"Cebu continues to gain speed and strength as it soars high to match up with other fast growing cities in the world"

True indeed, the island paradise of Cebu has become a brilliant name in the Philippine landscape. From its very rich culture, world-class performers and competent workforce, Cebu continues to gain speed and strength as it soars high to match up with other fast growing cities in the world.

Cebu

Cebu is a long narrow island nestled in the Philippines and is well known for its rolling hills, spectacular mountain ranges, and tropical climates. The island is jam packed with resort hotels, recreational activities, and white sandy beaches. Cebu is a favorite destination for those looking to relax in between water sports. The area is most popular for windsurfing, scuba diving, sailing, snorkeling, and anything related to the ocean. You’ll also find plenty of opportunities to shop, eat, and party the night away.

This is the Edge Coaster ride is located on the 38th floor  of Crown Regency near by Fuente Osmena Bld. Cebu City.
Actually, I`ve been to Crown Regency Hotel but I haven`t tried riding the Edge Coaster because I have fear of hight which is Acrophobia..

Kawasan falls 130 kilometers of South West of Cebu City and about three hours ride. The falls is a popular get-away destination in the southern part of Cebu to locals and foreigners alike. With its lush tropical trees and plants everywhere, peaceful flow of the river as it gracefully rushes to the distant sea, the sound of the waterfalls on the background, friends and loved ones enjoying the cool and deep fresh water, everything around just seems so relaxed, simple and very serene.

The Lighthouse Restaurant is a nice dining facility that offers authentic Filipino cuisine, located at Maxillom Mango Avenue beside Mango Park Hotel. Its menu includes a wide array of healthy and nutritous option including a salad that contains puso ng saging, okra, and langka. Thsi Cebu restaurant also serves different kinds of salads and one of this our tasty crab meat and vegetables. For only 500 pesos. The Magellan`s Cross was planted by Magellan a European Portuguese navigator working for the King of Spain in search of the spice islands  (now part of Indonesia, known as Maluku or Moluccas islands). When he and his crews landed on Cebu island, a native chief, Rajah Humabon, met and befriended him. Rajah Humabon, his wife and hundreds of his native warriors agreed to accept Christianity and were consequently baptized.

To remain the memory between the Filipino and the European in accepting the Christianity, Magellan planted a cross to signify this important event about the propagation of the Roman Catholic faith in what is now Cebu, in central Philippines. The original cross is reputedly encased in another wooden cross for protection, as people started chipping it away in the belief that it had miraculous healing powers.

One of the oldest church in the Philippines that houses the oldest relic, Santo Nino - a carving of a young Jesus depicted as a black child, dating back to Magellan`s time (16th century). It was founded by an Augustine priest (hence its former name, San Augustine Church) Andres de Urdaneta, 1569. Having burt down three times it was rebuilt in its current form in 1737. Inside the church is a small museum chartering Christianity in Cebu. Inside, the ceiling murals are pretty impressive. The church, in the heart of Cebu City, was purposely built on the spot where the Santo Nino was discovered. It has been built in a baroque and Neo-classical style. English-language masses are held from 17:30-20:00 every day except Sunday.

Port San Pedro is located near plaza Independencia at Cebu City, Philippines. There are many historical happenings in this place. Port San Pedro is one of the oldest spanish port in the Philippines. It was first started in May 8, 1965.The work of colonization had just begun and due to the hostility of the natives, the Spaniards were compelled to build the port.

The port is triangular in shape with two sides facing the sea and the third side facing the land. The two sides facing the sea were defended with artillery, and the third side with palisade made of wood. The tort serves as a nucleus of the first established settlement in the Philippines. It is one of the tourist spot in Cebu.

The Chinese make up 15% of Cebu`s population and are responsible for the Taoist temple situated in the affluent are of Beverly Hills. Followers of the ancient Chinese philosopher, Lao Tze, come here to worship and are something of a minority in the predominantly Christian country. On Wednesday and Sundays, Taoist devotees climb the 99 steps of the temple to light joss sticks then have their fortunes read by the monks. The temple was built in 1979 and is about 300 metres above sea level topped with a pagoda style roof, something of a novelty in this city

This is not just a butterfly sanctuary but an art gallery and museum as well. Built in 1974 by Cebuan lepidopterist, Julian Jumalon, the garden contains 100 butterfly food plant species, around which flutter 50 magnificent types of butterfly. Guests receive both a tour and lecture on the various stages of the butterflies` life cycle. The Sanctuary also houses a collection of artworks made from butterfly wings. We advise a morning visit and if possible between June February- breeding season

This is not just a butterfly sanctuary but an art.

Located just a few kilometers off Cebu, the exotic wonders of Mactan are accessed by crossing the Mandaue-Mactan Bridge. With its pristine beaches and azure waters laden with marine life, it is considered to be the diving hub of the south. It is not only the natural beauty that draws visitors but the historical context of the island is also culturally significant. This was the island were the Filipino natives first fought against the European invasion and where explorer Ferdinand Magellan met his death at the hands of Lapu-Lapu. For all you aspiring Bob Dylans the island is also home to several noted guitar, mandolin and  factories.
